On September 1 Grzegorz Bielec will join the Management Boards of Warta companies. As Vice President of the Management Boards of TUiR “WARTA” S.A. and TUnŻ “WARTA” S.A. he will be responsible for strategy, efficiency management and bancassurance. Maciej Friedel, responsible for integration-related projects, is leaving the company authorities.
“Appointing a new manager in our team is a result of the new opportunities that Warta is facing. After a period of integration, it is now time to implement new and innovative solutions that will strengthen our position as a leading insurance company in terms of the quality of services. This is why we have decided to engage Grzegorz Bielec. We have already had an opportunity to work with Grzegorz on the strategy of dual branding, which is offering individual non-life insurance policies under two brands: Warta and HDI. I am convinced that Grzegorz, already familiar with our organisation, will contribute a number of new ideas to the company,” said Jarosław Parkot, President of the Management Boards of TUiR “WARTA” S.A. and TUnŻ “WARTA” S.A.
Grzegorz Bielec worked with Warta as a Junior Partner at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Poland. He has been with this consulting company from April 2008. Based in Poland and abroad (Europe, the USA and the Middle East) he was engaged in projects for many Polish and foreign insurance companies. At the BCG office in San Francisco, USA, for instance, he worked on strategic projects for banks and asset management companies. He was a member of the BCG World Insurance Practice and the BCG Financial Services Practice. Prior to that, he has been with Accenture and the Lux Med Group. He simultaneously completed two programmes at the Warsaw School of Economics: Finance and Banking and Quantitative Methods in Economy and Information Systems.
“12 years of experience in consulting allowed me to accumulate experience in financial services, especially in terms of insurance. I had the opportunity to carry out many innovative projects in terms of financial services, both in Poland and abroad,” said Grzegorz Bielec.
At Warta, Maciej Friedel was responsible for the BEST strategic programme covering projects integrating non-life insurance companies (Warta and HDI Asekuracja) and life insurance companies (Warta and HDI-Gerling Życie). Many of these projects were completed ahead of the deadlines. As of the end of August 2014, two years after the Polish Financial Supervision Authority accepted the merger of Warta and HDI Asekuracja, the programme will be officially close.
“Closing the BEST programme is a symbolic completion of the integration process. Its quick and efficient implementation provided Warta with solid bases for development and growth on a very competitive market. I would like to thank Maciej for these two years of joint and fruitful work. At the same time, I would like to wish him all the best in taking up new, equally interesting challenges,” said Jarosław Parkot.
